Towing Roller & Norman Pin(WJ-T/R-78T)

Towing Roller & Norman Pin Assembly consist of four major components: the hydraulic power unit, the tow pin assembly, the norman pins, the control panels.

Overview

The tow pin assembly is designed to trap and hold a tow wire by raising a combination of pins and hold down blocks. The assembly is designed for the breaking strength of the wire rope towing hawser. The housings are faired, particularly at the corners such that the tow hawsers will not foul on the housing. Accesses for maintenance are provided. The major assemblies of the tow pin assembly are the tow pins, the stern roller, and the hold down blocks. Two norman pins are included in the tow pin assembly, one for installation on each side of the ship. As with the tow pins, each norman pin is controlled by a hydraulic cylinder.
